Check out these fall youth opportunities
Written by Pastor Billy Craig

It’s time for our regular youth programs to get started again at First Pres. Here are some highlights.

Sunday Morning Discipleship

Starting, on Sunday, Aug. 27, our discipleship groups and Sunday school classes are back between the worship services (10:15-11 a.m.). Middle and high school groups meet on the third floor, with middle in Room 307 and high in Room 301. Middle-school students will be looking at “the heart of God,” and high-schoolers will be studying the book of Revelation and why it gives us hope.

Small Groups

Youth small groups are meeting again this year for Bible study before school. Join us on Wednesday mornings at Chick-fil-A from 6:30-7:30 a.m. starting on Sept. 6.  We will enjoy breakfast together and then get into smaller groups to dig into God’s Word. Parents who are interested in staying and being a part of this time can reach out to Billy Craig or Mike Hendricksen (chair of youth committee). The first four weeks we will continue with our Thrive Bible study series and then we will do an eight-week Bible study on the book of Philippians.

Large Group on Sunday nights

All youth are welcome on Sunday nights from 6:30-8 p.m. in Showker Hall, starting on Sept. 10. The theme verse this year is 2 Corinthians 4:18 which says, “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” This will be a time for a meal together, worship, learning, games and relationship-building.

Parent Kickoff Meeting

We want all parents to join large group on Sunday, Sept. 10 for the first 30 minutes (6:30-7 p.m.) for a parent meeting when we will share an overview of the upcoming school year: what you need to know and sign up for, and how to connect.
