First Pres would like to launch more small groups as soon as possible. Many people have expressed an interest in participating, and we would love to have enough groups for all who desire a small group community.
To make that happen, we will be offering support and training for small-group facilitators beginning in late April/early May. There will be six to seven sessions, each formatted as a small group with discussion, prayer and Bible study as well as brief (2-8 minute) discussion-starter videos. During our time together, we will cover topics such as delegating responsibilities, clarifying group member expectations, handling difficult personalities, listening, building relationships, group Bible study & prayer, outreach, service and available resources (because you are not expected to meet everyone’s needs).
So…
- If you know someone who would make a great small group facilitator, let us know and send this information to them, telling them that you think they would make a great facilitator.
- If you see a need for a small group, but aren’t yet sure if you want to facilitate a group, let us know.
- If you are willing to facilitate a group, let us know.
- If you have experience as a small group facilitator or leader, please let us know – sharing your experience will be hugely helpful to others with less experience.
Time and place TBD, tailored to the schedules of those who attend. Please RSVP by Wednesday, April 16, with your contact information and let us know all of the following times that would be possible for you so that we can determine the best meeting time for everyone. Send an email letting us know of your interest.
