Nominate a leader

Who is God calling to be elders and deacons?

Nominations for Elders and Deacons are now open for the three-year term that will begin in January 2025. Because these leaders serve until the end of 2027, they are called the “class of 2026.”

We ask you to pray and carefully consider the biblical qualifications for elders and deacons as described in  1 Timothy 3 & 5, Titus 1:5-9, Titus 2:3-8. We also ask you to consider people who demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-26).

The Bible calls elders and deacons to demonstrate the character that is shown in these passages.

Elders should be prepared to shepherd the church in prayer and governance by showing discernment about where God is leading and then embracing the mission and vision of First Pres. They should be covenant partners who are committed to regular worship and participation in the life of the church.

Deacons are called to service, focusing on areas such as congregational care, local missions and service to those in need.

Covenant partners may nominate other covenant partners for these roles by filling in the form below. The Nominating Committee will then consider nominations and present a slate of candidates for congregational affirmation.
