LIBRARY

Resources for discipleship and growth

Welcome to the First Pres library! Our collection contains more than 2,000 books and some DVDs about a variety of topics. Here, you can find books about Christian living, parenting, biblical doctrine, theology, missions and more. And our extensive collection of children’s titles will equip families for discipleship at home.

How to Use the Online Catalog

The online library catalog looks and functions just like a public library’s web page.

  • You can search the catalog without needing to log in. If you log in with your barcode number and PIN/password, you will be able to put books on hold and create “want to read” lists. Contact Margie Robison if you need your barcode number and password.
  • When you click on a book, you can see if the book is available.
  • Find something you want? Stop by the library and check it out at the self-checkout station. Just follow the instructions at the desk.
How to Place a Hold

The online catalog has a hold feature. To use it, you must have your patron number and a PIN/password. You can find this information on your card in the church library or you can email Margie Robison.

  • When you put a book or books on hold online, you can pick it up at the self-checkout station at the church library. It will have a hold slip in it. Be sure to check out the book at the station before you take it with you.
  • Alternatively, you can email Margie Robison to check out the book for you so thay you don’t have to use the self-checkout. Those books will have a hold checked out slip in the book. The due date will be included on the slip. The book will be in a bin labeled “HOLDS CHECKED OUT” on the little wooden table just inside the library door. You can just “grab and go” with it.
How to Use Self-Checkout

The self-checkout station is simple to use. If you need a quick tutorial, check out the video below.
