Why Church Planting?

Maybe you’ve heard about planting churches, and even First Pres’ plans to be part of church planting, but you’re still not sure why we’re doing it. Luke Parker, who directs church planting for ECO, our denomination, will be preaching at First Pres on January 22. Between the services, from 10:15-11, join him at 9 Court Square (the building adjacent to the Courtyard) as he answers the why. As we begin to think strategically about planting a church, it’s a session that will help you understand how vital church-planting is to our mission.

Summer Cookout

Our annual summer picnic, featuring games and food, will be June 2 from 4-6 p.m. Dinner starts at 5 p.m. If your last name is A-M, bring a vegetable or salad. If your last name starts with N-Z, bring a dessert. Main dish and drinks will be provided.

Ice Cream Sunday

If you eat a sundae on Sunday is it an ice cream sundae or an ice cream Sunday? Whatever you call it, we're celebrating National Ice Cream Day ice cream and toppings between the worship services. We'll gather in the overflow are (Old Fellowship Hall) from 10:15-11 a.m.

Ash Wednesday Dinner & Worship

Ash Wednesday begins a season of reflection and repentance. We will gather for dinner at 5 p.m. in Room 301, followed by a reflective worship service at 6 p.m. in the Sanctuary.
