More about the D-Now Theme

What's the theme this year?

Priceless.  Jesus shed His blood for us on the Cross and paid the price we deserved for our sin.  He paid the ransom to free us from bondage.  The Bible says in I Corinthians 6:20, “you were bought at a price.  Therefore, honor God with your body.”  As we all know, issues regarding sexuality have split the nation dramatically and multitudes of Christians are struggling with how to respond in a way that recognizes the image of God in all people but is also faithful to the teaching of scripture. This is especially true with our young people, many who have friends who identify as either gay, non binary or transgender. During the weekend, we will be discovering God’s plan for sexuality and gender.

How will the topic be approached?

Dr. Christopher Yuan, formerly of Moody Bible institute, will be in Woodstock at Antioch Church on the Saturday of D-Now, and we will join that gathering as he helps us understand how to address the issue of sexuality in a way that is loving and biblically sound. He will be sharing his own story, then discussing God’s creation of human beings as male and female and how God has called upon us to use the gift of sexuality as He designed it. This topic is pertinent to all Christians, but especially for young people and parents and grandparents who want to help their children navigate these important and controversial issues.

Why this topic now?

A few years ago, two of our high-school teachers mentioned this was the topic that many were most interested in learning more about from a biblical perspective. And students wanted to know how to respond to these issues with their friends. Since then, Pastor Billy has heard many authors and speakers on the topic. He also studied these topics on a recent sabbatical. The research shows that this is the number-one culturally relevant issue we are facing in America today.

Where can I learn more?
