First Pres seeking a children’s ministry intern

First Pres’ Children and Family Ministries team is looking for a Children’s Ministry Intern to assist us in our ministry to children.

Requirements

  • A growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ, evidenced by love for Him, a personal devotional life and commitment to the church body
  • Understanding of and agreement with ECO’s Essential Tenets
  • Clearance by a background check agency
  • Completion of child protection training and constant adherence to its standards
  • Desire and ability to work with children and adults of all ages
  • The ability to accept direction and work as part of a ministry team
  • A wholesome and appropriate lifestyle and social media presence
  • Technical skills including word processing, basic graphic design and spreadsheets
  • Availability on Sunday mornings,and at other church events as required.
  • Ability to prepare lessons and teach and/or assist with groups of children in classroom and active group contexts.

Duties

  • Assist the Children’s Director with planning and implementation of Sunday classes, mid-week programming, Summer JAM (Vacation Bible School), special events and other duties as assigned.
  • Assist in the coordination and support of volunteers.
  • Help improve and maintain classrooms.
  • In all things, encourage children and their families to encounter Jesus Christ as Savior, Lord and Friend, grow in faith, and live for Him in joyful service.
  • Participate in corporate worship at First Presbyterian and monthly Children’s Ministry Team meetings.

Compensation

$15.00 per hour. Weekly hours may vary based on the Children’s Ministries calendar.
