Starting Sunday, August 29, you’ll be seeing some of your favorite faith-building opportunities return to First Pres as we get back together to study the Bible, grow in our walk with Jesus and build community.
On that day, children’s Sunday school, youth discipleship groups, adult Bible fellowship groups and our college brunch return. All of these will happen from 10:15-11 a.m., which is between our two worship services.
Children’s Sunday School
Children’s Sunday school, which will include Bible lessons activities, will be held in four age groups, which will meet in various locations.
- Nursery (under age 3), nursery
- Preschool (ages 3-4), nursery
- Kindergarten-2nd Grade, Room, Room 310
- 3rd-5th Grade, Room, Room 308
Youth Discipleship Groups
For our Sunday-morning discipleship time, our youth in grade six through 12 will meet in two groups. These groups also meet between the services from 10:15-11 a.m.
- Middle School (6th-8th grade) – Room 307
- High School (9th-12th grade) – Room 301
Also on August 29, all youth will kick off the year with their monthly Youth Group Night. Each month, middle and high schoolers will gather together for a time of games, worship and growing in faith. The first one of the year is Sunday, August 29 from 6:30-8 p.m. in Showker Hall.
College Brunch
Students from Harrisonburg-area colleges and universities gather for brunch in Showker Hall each Sunday from 10:15-11 a.m. The time together Includes a brief devotional and time to connect with other college students and First Pres covenant partners.
Adult Bible Fellowship Groups
Adult Bible Fellowship Groups meet between the services from 10:15-11 a.m. The goal of these groups is to grow in following Jesus and in community with one another. Click here for more on the groups.
